My name is Markus Schoenrock. I was born in September 1966 in Charlotte, USA. My father was a textile engineer and was working for many years for a German company abroad. This is why my sister and brother were born in Hong Kong and in Japan. I grew up in Muenster/ Northrhein Westphalia and in Limburg in Hessen. 1986 I achieved my 'Fachabitur' with the focus on metal application. In the following I started studying mechanical engineering in Friedberg/ Hessen and in Schweinfurt

My industrial training/ practical semester took me to a motorcycle shop in Wuerzburg. Everyday business and my activities in motor sports fascinated me so much, that I gave up my studies in engineering.
In order to ensure, that my career would not end up without having any qualification, I decided to start an apprenticeship as a merchant in a motorcycle shop. Directly after finishing my apprenticeship, I became independent and started with my own bicycle shop in the city of Bad Brueckenau. In the year 1996 I married my long term fiancée Barbara. In the year 1998 our daughter Veronika and two years later our son Valentin was born.
Despite all efforts, I suffered from the crises in the retailing business. The long winters in the Rhoen, the lack of purchasing power in the commuter belt and last but not least the opening of various discount markets in the near vicinity, made the survival of my bicycle shop extremely difficult.
As my wife Barbara had the chance to work as an architect in the public service, I finally gave up my bicycle shop and moved to Wuerzburg together with my family.
To become a house husband was a difficult decision for me. After a while, however, I arranged myself with the new situation. I now use my spare time to develop ideas, that do not necessary bring back mony in short time.
